Wrekin View II
Installation, Participate Contemporary Art Space, Shropshire UK Cotton, broken clay pipes and pottery pieces and map. 1 metres x 1 metres x 2 metres April 2015
Stripes of fabric which have been dipped in local clay follow the contours of the Wrekin. Hanging from each is an object found at a site in Broseley. A geological map of the local area lies in the bottom of the cabinet.
The work considers the link between geology and people. Geology as a raw material; iron, clay, coal; to be dug, fired or moulded; and geology as a landscape to be climbed, descended or viewed.
